EPRI is working with UN Women Tanzania and the Embassy of Finland in Tanzania to develop a multi-year programme document to promote women’s meaningful participation and leadership through gender-transformative and disability-inclusive social protection and care systems.
This objective is to be achieved through the existing and proposed future social protection policies, programmes and care economy institutions in Tanzania. The project is designed to advance the implementation of UN Women’s Strategic Plan (2022-2025) in promoting effective leadership and participation of women in decision-making at the local government level and supports Tanzania towards reaching the SDG indicator 5.5.1b on women’s representation in local governments. The picture below shows the participants of an FGD discussion EPRI conducted as part of the qualitative data collection process to develop the programme document.
