The Savings and Investment Linkages (SAIL) pilot was a three-year study conducted using a randomised controlled trial methodology incorporating both qualitative and quantitative methods in order to generate an evidence base which describes whether poor and vulnerable caregivers who receive the Child Support Grant (CSG) will be more likely to save to enable the youth in their care to invest in higher education and/or entrepreneurial activities when given access to bank accounts, financial incentives and financial education.
