EPRI has been commissioned by UNICEF Sudan to provide high-level advocacy and technical assistance in building a long-term, inclusive, rights based social protection system and developing a national social protection strategy in Sudan. EPRI is providing support to the Ministry of Labour and Social Development (MoLSD) through the facilitation of social policy dialogue with high-level officials and stakeholders to support social protection system building and program design, in particular, Mother and Child Cash transfer Programme; provide technical analysis of evidence and lessons learnt on long term social protection framework (analytical and policy briefs and way forward etc.) and ensure continued capacity development for policymakers and practitioners across various levels of governance.
The development of the national social protection strategy is deemed essential for establishing a clear definition of social protection, adopting a unified vision and a holistic approach for implementing social protection interventions for all relevant stakeholders in Sudan
