EPRI conducted an extensive fiscal space analysis to understand how social protection was being financed and to identify potential financing pathways for the social protection system in four countries, producing five study papers for each country:
1. How the country finances its public spending;
2. High-level expenditure analysis;
3. Analysis of current social protection spending;
4. Conduct a fiscal incidence analysis that shows the distributional effect of taxes and transfers across the income distribution, as well as their impact on absolute poverty;
5. Provide a forward-looking analysis of how the government can create fiscal space over the medium and long term.
