Development of Financing Strategy for Social Protection in Myanmar EPRI was commissioned by UNICEF Myanmar to develop a long-term financing strategy for social protection to deliver on the plans and objectives of Myanmar’s National Social Protection Strategic Plan (NSPSP -2014) within the broader context of the Myanmar Social Development Plan (MSDP- 2018-2030). Currently, Myanmar has a Costed Social Protection Sector Plan (2018-2023), which presents financing sources for the flagship programmes for the duration of the plan. However, the vision of the NSPSP necessitates securing additional financing/fiscal space for achieving sustained growth.
Thus the development of the financing strategy is expected to contribute to the expansion of the sector in line with the NSPSP’s longer-term objectives. Conducting a value for money analysis (VfM) of the Maternal and Child Cash Transfer Programme EPRI was commissioned by UNICEF Myanmar to conduct a Value for Money analysis of the Maternal and Child Cash Transfer (MCCT) programme in Myanmar. The objective of the study was to analyse how cost-effectively the MCCT programme generate benefits, to review programme processes for optimising the MCCT programme design, implementation and monitoring and to strengthen the evidence base on the programme’s contribution to inclusive social development and equitable economic growth.
