EPRI conducted a baseline study and completed the preliminary design of the summative evaluation for an ECD pilot project run by the government of Sierra Leone and UNICEF. The baseline study set the stage for the summative evaluation by documenting the status of young children’s early development, the context of the communities where the pilots are implemented and the child rearing knowledge of parents. Baseline data was successfully collected and analyzed in 2017/18, with key insights on the state of children and ECD found. Both quantitative and qualitative data was collected and analysed.
