EPRI aims to build South-South cooperation and develop local knowledge through a variety of past and ongoing initiatives.
|Parliamentary Capacity Building Programme
The Parliamentary Capacity Building Programme aims to promote social and economic development in South Africa by enhancing capacity for economic policy analysis in the public sector. Since its launch in 2000, it has provided in-service, undergraduate and Master’s level degree training to hundreds of Members of Parliament in South Africa and across the southern African region.
Between 2007 and 2009, EPRI ran a series of one-week study tours for key government officials from nine developing countries to learn about designing and implementing effective national social protection programmes. The tours included teach-in lectures, focus group discussions, meetings with key stakeholders and field trips to see social protection programmes in action.
